Is there anyway to call in from an outside line and change the recordings on a personal voicemail box or Auto Attendant greeting?

I can set up remote access to check VM, but I cannot figure out how to change/re-record the greetings.

Thanks!

It is easy

Make a "edit playlist"

Set the wav to be changed in there

To access it make a menu with an option to it

Edit playlist? What is that?

That's not via short code from what I see.

I guess I should have said I'm using Embedded VM on this account, I see the Edit Playlist feature on VM Pro.

Then you can not i am affraid

I was able to do it by creating VoIP extension and cfwd that extension to the AA shortcode. Obviously I had to point a DID to that VoIP extension, but it works nicely for the AA at least.

It will be annoying and inefficient to do it for personal VM boxes, kind of a waste of a DID to do that for each VM box.

Hm.. I haven't tried it, as I don't think I've had a customer with Embedded VM that would really need to.. but shouldn't you be able to transfer a line/DID to a shortcode to edit the AA greeting? For example, I think the default for AA #01 is *8401 for the shortcode. Just point a number to that code and it should work I would think.

And for personal VM boxes, you have to make sure to set up a password for the voicemail box, and then point a number to "VoiceMail" under destinations or *17.

You should also be able to do all this with options off the Attendant as well if you're using analog lines with no extras to spare.

Someone correct me if I'm just talking out of my proverbial behind here.
