Hi,

I'm attempting to manage an IBM DS4800 disk array on a private LAN from a RH box where the display is actually run over a LAN interface on a ubuntu desktop. the RH server is dual homed.

i can successfully tunnel the app through ssh up to a point. the main screen is fine on start-up, but when i attempt to manage the array by clicking on it's icon, the dialog that comes up is blank. there is another dialog that comes up at the same time that is fine, but this one is for a configuration wizard.

ne1 seen this behaviour before, or have an idea of what may be causing it?

tia!

It looks like the app uses a port and the array management applet uses a different port that you have not tunneled, hence it is not capable of running properly.

Rare but possible.

If I could have sex each time I reboot my server, I would definitely prefer Windoz over Linux!

ssh -v(vv) is your friend. Try this and running the sshd daemon on the remote host in debug mode also.

HTH.

Thanks, but for some reason it started working after our data center went through a planned power outage. so, maybe the boot helped........

appreciate the replies.
