After loading keycode file for remote worker and checking"remote" box in Manager my 1230's still don't boot-up. I see in CD docs Avaya needs port 7000-7002 not just 7000 along with setting "published IP of BCM" Ive tried both my local BCM static and my routers public address. In doc NN40171-505 it has ouside customer's public IP to port 23...then local BCM IP to port 22, which I did not try yet. Could this be my issue? My Netgear router is forwarding 5989 fine for my manger admin with no problem.

You have to forward UDP ports 7000-7002 and 30000-30099 from your router to the BCM. Then you have to set the S1 server of your IP phone to the discovered IP address of the router. Of course, you have to have IP client licenses as well.

That's about it.

Where are you testing that phone from? I don't think you'll be able to establish a connection if you're at the same site using the same router to go out on and back in. You would have to be offsite somewhere. I've run into this problem as well when being at another customer's site, having access to the internet but their network being set up so VPN connections were not allowed.

make sure you have installed SU7 or SU8 on the bcm to allow the firmware to be uploaded.

There is an issue with firmware on the phone not uploading and this fixes it.

I will add port 7001/7002 and double check other ports also .What about the provisioned address setting of BCM? Do I need to add the outside IP to the BCM? Do you need to turn on STUN?Iam using a BCM with static IP behind a Netgear LAN router 192.168.0.100.I tried a 1230 (with software already loaded from our BCM 50 3.0 since Avaya had boot issues on 6.0) from our office with router IP set for S1.I run a EXCHANGE 11 server in our office, and Element Manager has always worked good. So I dont think it's our site. I might try another LAN connection from a different site. Appreciate the input!
