Have an interesting network problem.

I have a remote site that connects to the IPO server through a remote VPN. And an IP phone is connected to this remote VPN.
When the remote VPN loses connection to the IPO server and soon after reconnects, the IP phone will hang in a discovering state.
The only way to reset it is to physically disconnect the connection between the VPN and IP phone to force it to reconnect.

Is there any ways to have an automatic feature to force a reconnect on the IP phone or a reset to the discovering state?
I still need to complete a few more test to determine the exact issue but guessing the above fix can solve it.
Hoping if any one else has experience something similar and able to help out.
