I've tried to make the serial cable, and hook up my laptop (with the remote utilities CD I have just bought) and did the 'dial up to a COM port' setup. It's not working. Everything I check is correct - my question is, I've heard that the network connection is the quickest way to go. What type of network card will work in a NAM for remote utilities to hook into a NIC? Thanks! Beer is food! Is it suppertime?
