Remote Users connectting to Exchange Server

I want to allow a user to connect to the exchange server remotely using a laptop and a modem. I am new to this and don't know where to start.

Try use Microsoft RAS, a service within NT 4.0. Set this up on a server, and the user can dial in to that server and it appears like he is on the local network when dialing in.
