I want to setup a remote user using a I2002 or I2004 phone to connect to the BCM. My telco company said we would need a Nortel Conectivity at both the remote user site plus the office for the IP phones. If this is a single home user, does the I2002 or I2004 not allow to connect to a public IP address directly like some of the other IP phones?

Thanks.

Simply (and cheap) solution:

Assuming you have VPN capabilities outside of the BCM, you can setup a VPN router at the home office then connect the i2002/4 to the INTERNAL IP address.
