I have several remote laptop users that connect to either a local ISP, their home DSL or cable modem, or dial directly in to our network. We use Exchange 5.5 on NT 4 with all the updates. The clients use Outlook.
For users who just go out of town and can use any computer, I have Outlook Web Access set up. For the laptop users though, they need to be able to use Outlook for offline viewing, etc.
We seem to have a lot of trouble with this. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes we get relaying errors (b/c I have disabled relaying of course), sometimes we get timing out errors, and a few others. It's driving me nuts, and I want to know if there are other options out there or if there are settings in Outlook to make it more reliable?
I have it set up to connect via Exchange, not POP3. I don't think the proper authorization is going on.
Ideas anyone? Thanks in advance!
