Hi All,

I have a Client with a Callmanager Cluster and a remote site running SRST.
I would like the remote site phones to download their TFTP firmware updates from the local router, since the WAN is too slow, but register to the Call Manager Cluster after. I've obviously got the same phone firmware files on the router as are on the Cluster, as well as configure the router as a TFTP server.

How can this be done without manually modifying Option 150 on the DHCP scope all the time ?

Thanks,
Salvo

Add a tftp server on the remote site, then point the option 150 permanently to that tftp server.
You will have to maintain multiple tftp servers but it sounds like you are doing that anyway.
Don't know of any other way.

But then the Phones will register to the SRST router instead of the CallManager cluster and since option 150 will point to the IP of the SRST router, they won't know about the cluster ?

Also, under call-manager-fallback , there is no load command to specify the firmware the phones need to download...

Option 15/TFTP server is more than just for the phone load, it is the phone configuration also. You would have to download the Phone configuration file and put it on the router to accomplish this.

If you read my post carefully I said add a tftp server not use the router as one. An actual cucm server on site configured as a TFTP server. That is the only way that I know.
As pndscm said as well the router is not the solution you want.

Great thanks for all the help... not financially viable putting a CUCM at the remote site. Will just need to plug the phones in in non-busy times to do the firmware upgrades.
