Remote Supervisor Adapter PCI-X 09N7589 Compatibilty 1

Hi can anyone tell if you can use IBM Remote Supervisor Adapters (09N7589) in non IBM servers

The installation guide that comes with the RSA adapters tells us that the adapters cannot be used in other servers once they have been installed - I don't know if there is some low-level code load that occurs as part of the installation process that renders the card useless in other systems. Anyone?

Not entirely true. I had to pull out an RSA card to be used in another xSeries box, and like u said it would not work. We had to re-flash the card to its defaults. Check this site for details;
