remote snooping?? please help

hi all. lately, every time i have been connecting to the web, i have noticed that i get at least 2 remote connections from hosts having the following generic names:

*.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com

Now i dont remember ever visiting that website, however upon doing a google search, i found the following worrying thread topic:

"*.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com resolving to .FBl.gov"

Is this all what it seems to be? i.e. am i being remotely snooped upon????

Akamai provides content-caching and similir services to improve web performance. Some large web sites contract with them to distribute the web load and provide higher performance. Think of them as a bunch of distributed proxy servers. It's perfectly normal.
