I'm pretty sure I cannot remotely service observe or even barge in to a call using remote access. True ?

Is there any other way, using a third party device even to observe ( listen only ) on active extension calls ?

What about a 3rd party device ?
Has anyone used a product that allows you to dial into it and then so/monitor calls ?

Well, most service observing units will monitor analog lines, such as the POTS lines that connect to your system, or Single Line phones. You could set up remote access, with a barrier code, dial in, transfer yourself to the service observing unit, and then monitor lines or stations.
