I have a PC in the Lab and it talks via PPP to a 9600bps IP network. The application, SNMP and pings work fine. I have a PC on my desk which use can ping the Lab PC(20ms), but I can not ping the serial network. Any ideas on how to get access to the serial network from my desk PC?

My first question is the serial port connection on the same subnet as the rest of the lab? If not, then you probably need either a router or a change to the existing router to pass the new subnet.

Thanks; but the answer lies in Microsoft tech article id q121877.
