Was wondering if it's possible to somehow get a rad located on controller A to work on a path configured on controller B?

I've tried but have failed. RAD HG are not networked supported only voice HG. However a voice hg can't be assigned to a recording in a path.

has anyone ever tried this or better yet got it to work? maybe some workaround?

I recall reading a post somewhere, not necessarily here, an issue with rads not playing for a path when rad was located on a remote controller. This would at least indicated that programming remote rad was possible.

thanks in advance,

Simplest method would be to get a voicemail license on the local system and use embedded VM rads.

have done that. working. the challenge is getting all the recordings from system A to system B.

though it would have been easier to just point the path to the existing rad on remote controller.

thanks for the reply

The files are accessable thru FTP if you know what you are doing. I seem to remember someone posting about the exact directory but I don't know it offhand.

The RAD needs to be local as far as I know.

I have a problem with RADs on an Mxe server. I have a customer with MCD hunt groups using rads. The phones will be on the mxe server along with the hunt groups. How can I make a rad play in an mxe server hunt group? I ran into the same problem with networked hunt groups.

virtualman it appears you can't cause the MXE server does NOT support voicemail.

You need voicemail for RADs to function.

MitelPassion:

RAD's must be on the same controller as the path they serve.

Virtualman9000:

Since the MXe Server doesn't support the internal voicemail, then I don't think RAD's will work.

I believe I am going to have to use a 6160. They are set up as app server ports. Thanks for the help.
