Does anyone know if remote programming via a sip trunk is possible ? We are looking at dropping our isdn lines in favour of sip and need to know if anyone has found a way of remote programming by any other means. We do use VNC and LogMeIn to some sites but they are not in the majority. Are SIP lines an option ?

sip is a protocol. i trust you mean can you configue the ip office via a tcp port then yes, default is 50804 and can be changed in manager. you need to set port forwarding or equivalent to operate this.
If the SIP is on an internet ADSL then port forward the port on the router to the internal address of the IPO then use manager to the public IP address. This could be a security hole.
Even better would be of the router has VPN build in then set up VPN to the router then get in that way. Or VPN to the customer N/W.
It would all depend on the SIP provider setup. We had on on private DSL's and they setup routing between site so we could go over the private n/w without security issues.

if you open security settings under system you will see the base TCP port. This is the programming port used by IPO and can be changed if needed.
Make sure you have a route for the IPO out to the internet.
On your router port forward TCP traffic on 50804 to local address of IPO. If you don't know how to do this is a good source.
