Remote Procedure Call 2

What is it???? I'm running XP, system is new (about 6 months) and has been running fine. When I go on line and get connected I get an error box that says something to the effect of : Remote Procedure Call unexpectantly terminated early. System will automatically shut down in 60 seconds and will reboot????????? Then it shuts down and I have to start over. It doesn't seem to do it unless I'm going on line..... I did a the complete system recovery and it still does the same thing.

This is probably one of the recent Worm Attacks. Use windows update and update XP and it should get rid of that. The people that sell the Mcafee Virus Scanner have a program called Stinger that can clean the PC from this. However, if you do not update the PC it will not work.

One problem with this is that it may take longer to download the fix than it will stay on. If you can have a friend download the fix, then you can update the comptuter from a copy on a CDROM.
