remote procedure call 3

I have a windows 2000 professional. In the services i changed (by mistake!) the properties of the service- "remote procedure call" from automatic to disable.
Apparently it is an important service, because now most of the services don't work and i can not even enter properties to cahnge it back.
Help needed urgently!

If you start it manually, maybe you will be able to change the startup option back to automatically. The process name is SVCHOST.EXE

enable and use Recovery Console.
there you can enable /disable services and other stuff.

Hi Marknav,
I have seen the same problem. If you boot into SafeMode and edit the following Key. [HKLM\System\CurrentControlset\Services\RPCSS\Start] change the value to "2" most likely it is set to "4" now. Then reboot and you will be fine. Worked for me, becareful as always when editing the registry.
