I am running a novell 4.11 network with windows 98 clients. The majority of our printers connect through Jet Direct cards, however a few connect to Windows 95 workstations via NptWin95. I want to upgrade these machines to Windows 98 however I cannot seem to get NptWin95 to initialise. It just responds that "LPT 1 is not supported on this workstation" The NDS Printer object is correctly configured and the local PC lists LPT1 in device manager. I installed ZEN Starter pack in the hope that this would provide an updated version of NptWin95 but had no joy. Aynone got any ideas?

There is a TID about this, 10007941. You have to regedit the w/station and search for portname. Then change it all to PortName.

It has to be the exact case as above. You may need to change PORTNAME to PORTNAME1, then change PORTNAME1 to PortName.

Try this. Lee Smith
