remote printer setup

hello,

can anybody show/guide me how to print from my AIX box to a printer connected locally on my Win2K PC?

both system has its own IP addresses (DNS for AIX & win2k PC accesses network with DHCP).

thanks in advance.

P.S. do i need emulator?

I believe you may be talking passthrough printing?
I may be wrong.....check out the following and see if it meets your needs.

You might look at Samba which is a freeware or shareware product that can
be gotten at the bull site.

Hi,

I'm no expert in these things but are you sure this will work while using DHCP ?
Won't you need a fix adress ? I think you should at least tell your DHCP server to keep the adress of the win2k PC so you can tell AIX where to find the printer without having DCHP changing it from time to time...
