I have several mailboxes setup to page the user when a message is left, some of my users complain of not getting pages when a message is left. This happens sometimes but not always, the common deniminator could be messages left from a cell phone. But I don't see why it would make a difference where the call came from once the caller is in the mailbox system. Has anyone else experienced this?

i saw this problem once befor turned out there were many dead pager locations in a large bulding could not even receive pages not using remote notification

From the same spot in my building a user called by cell phone, no page, then called by land line and got a page. Most of my users are on the road when this happens.

Could also be the paging carrier. We switched carriers a couple months ago and immediately had people miss pages. The company swore it was us, but random outside people weren't getting through to the pagers either.

Check your outcall report - if call to paging service was successful you would see connect defered -if not you might see why.

If you suspect paging company test by calling and leaving a number several times

your right, pagers are a hit and miss game. not even the page provider can tell if the page was rec. if your running cdr on the call pilot ports, you can look at the time stamp on the msg and your cdr to see if cp called the number.

and the source being a cell is not a factor.. if the params were not right, the caller would not hit mail. after a msg is left it's a call pilot only function..

I have checked the records and all calls to callpilot leave as programmed, that part is working correctly. The boss thinks there might be a timming issue with the paging service so I put my office phone as the pager number to hear what callpilot was sending out for a callback number. What I discovered was that callpilot would send the digits I programmed plus the clid of the phone that placed the message. The boss thinks with 14 or 15 digits bring sent to the pager service they are cutting off delivery of any digits. Why is callpilot sending the clid of the caller leaving a message at the end of the callback number?

Found the answer to the question of callpilot sending clid. It was buried in Mailbox Class under Pager Configuration, changed transmit to Notify Only. I still think the pager service is dropping our calls.
