Remote notification 1

I have turned on remote notification in the BCM Callpilot, but how does the user set it up on there end? I can't figure it out.
 
it is called off premises message notification in the user card - in the CP interface it is 85 after logging in
 
you may need to hold your customers hand on this one, if their not the brightest spark they will get lost. I think you also need to check ther MBox cos.

You will need to set the mailbox to have access to the lines. If you are using call routing then you need to set the mailbox to have the out dialing set as route or pool.

Pool on the call pilot works with numbers rather than letters

A=1
B=2 etc

yes but if you use a route, you don't specify a route number. isn't that right? How does it know which route to use. I have a PRI but have not tried the notification yet.
 
It looks at the route against the programming on the BCM. You are telling the system to use call routing.Rather than a route number as you stated.

You have to prefix the number with the route access. (9 or 8 or whatever you have set up)

Or you could just print out this cheat sheet that I made up for my customers who are using the NVM interface:

To Set Up Remote Message Notification

Feature 983, Log in 1020000 ok
Press MBOX
Press CHNG
Enter the maibox number
Hit next until you see
Outdial: None
Press Change until it says Pool
If using Pool A on the phone system, enter Pool 1.
Pool B = Pool 2
Pool C = Pool 3
If using a PRI on the phone system, choose Route.

From your phone with the handset down in the cradle
Press FEATURE 981
PSWD: Enter your mailbox password
The screen will show:

0 new 0 saved
PLAY RECORD QUIT

On Your dial pad press 8 6
Your screen will show:

Msg Notify:
Admin Select

Press Admin
Screen will show:

Destination:
PHONE EXT PAGER

Press Phone to have the call go to an outside phone number including pagers. Press Ext if you want the call to do to an inside Extension.

Screen will show:
Ph:
RETRY OK

Using your dial pad dial the phone number you want the call to go to. IE., 555-1212. Dial it exactly as you would from your phone. Do NOT include access codes like 9.
Press OK when finished.

Screen will show:
5551212
ADD OK
Press OK

Screen will show
Start hhmm:
Enter the start time. IE 08:00am. Then press OK

End hhmm:
Enter the end time. IE 05:00pm. Then press OK

Screen will show:
Msg Type: New
Press OK

Screen will show:
Msg Notify
Admin Select.
Press Select

Screen will show:
Transfer: on
CHNG QUIT
You can hang up now.
