Remote Netmeeting Installation

Hello Everyone.

I have a few Win2k Servers located at remote offices that are not manned. We had the servers installed and configured by and external support contract that has now been ceased. I would like to use Netmeeing on these boxes, however it has not been setup. Is there anyway of delivery Netmeeting to these servers without the need for any interaction. I can't reboot them either. Although I want this done soonest, we are due to drive the 400 miles to each site in the next month or 2, so I could install netmeeting while there.

Any pointers would be grand.

I'm assuming you want to use Netmeeting for remote desktop access. Why not just use "Remote Desktop" instead? Have you tried that yet? Are your remote sites set-up to connect to your site via a VPN tunnel or are they completely seperate?

You could also use a program called "Dameware Mini Remote Control" which works great and we use here.

Yes mate, I was wanting Netmeeting to remote in. We were looking at deploying SMS onto these servers, however at the moment the link keeps falling over. I will have a play about with Remote Desktop in the morning. We cant install any other software. It is a nightmare.

You'll have to make sure the servers are set to allow remote connections. Right-clicking on the My Computer icon and going to properties, then go to the REMOTE tab to enable it.

Hello,

I did try to talk someone through the Netmeeting setup on the phone butthey did not want to play with the server. Looks like I will have to wait till next month when we have a drive up to the sites.
