Connecting to SL1 with Procomm Plus V4.8. 9600 baud, 8N1, LD programs work fine. Whenever I type "ax" to flip to mail, I get err OVL0406 "Low Speed link used by the other terminal"
won't flip to voice mail.
Closet hardware has terminal attached but not logged in to anything.

Are you using VT100 terminal emulation?

PhM

Yes, monitor and keyboard set to VT100

Not sure. Perhaps try on TTY 0. Then trouble shoot connection.

PhM

OK, what is an SBE?

I was right the first time SEB (Site Event Buffer). Basicly it's a modem for commicating with a PBX.

I was just looking at your first post and you type "ax" is this the way you typed it in the Meridian, it must be in caps.
you said mon & kb set to VT100 it has to be set to VT220 for meridian and then after "AX" then change to VT100

Thanks acework, I tried the caps AX but still getting same error message.

Waht would I look for in the SEB? What are the commands to check/change the SEB?

try disabling all tty ports but the one you are on and disable the lsl in ld 37, then re-enable the lsl and try again

Problem solved! the hardwired terminal in the wiring closet was in the "welcome" screen of Meridian Mail. I pressed Ctrl-] to put in programming mode without loging in.

This allowed my remote terminal to work.
Thanks for all your help!!
