Hi all .

I am new to this forum.

I need help for programming the Remote maintanance in IP SOE.

I did the programming as follows.
1) Created the extn "244"
2) User name is - link
3) Password - osi

Created the RAS as follows.

RAS name- link
extension-244

Incoming route

I prgrammed the 1st trunk as - Modem Enabled. the incoming & outgoing group is 0.
in the destination drop down list i selected "link"

when i dialled from my PC i get a handsake from IPO SOE , after some time iget a erorr "721"
i am using windows XP sp1 - firewal is disabled .

pls some body guide where exactly i am doing the mistake , i need to programme any IP setting in my PC .

Thanks in advance

1st you have overcomplicated your set up. All of the requirements for remote access eccept the modem setup are in the default config.

Delete the ras link, you do not need it dialin is suficent.

Point the modem to dialin

using dialup networking on a windows pc for a default IPO you need the following set

User: RemoteManager
Password thepword

Send password as plain text

If your IPO is not acting as a dhcp server then you also need to specify a fixed ip address in the 192.168.99.x range

For security resons you should chaneg the password for the user RemoteManager

for systems equiped with ISDN the same setup can be used & there is already a default incomming call route that sends data calls to dialin

Hi IP Guru.

I did the setting as u mentioned.

Deleted the RAS Link.

I used the default settings as RemoteManager & incoming call route , Destination tab i just typed the RemoteManger.

Once i dialin i get modem handshake but the problem persist same error 721 remote computer does not answer .

u said point the modem to Dialin - how to do this.

pls post me the detail programming step by step if possible ,

Thanks In advance

Set the incomming call route dstination for line 1 to dialin
it should work although I have never actualy tried this

What firmware are you using? The built in line 1 modem didn't work properly until 2.1.31 I believe.
