Hi. I have a user who apparently deleted over 3000 messages from his master mailbox. In his remote mailbox, if you go to Tools, Options, Remote, Delete Options, it is set to "Always delete from the remote mailbox" when an item is deleted from the Master Mailbox. When he dialed in from his remote mailbox, of course all of the messages were deleted from the remote mailbox as well. Apparently, he didn't mean to delete any of the messages and needs them back. The problem is, we have our master mailboxes locked down to empty trash after 1 day so all of the messages are gone from his master mailbox. I was able to find all of the messages in the Trash of his remote mailbox but now I can't get those messages back into the Master Mailbox. Does anyone have any suggestions? I read on Novell's site that I could forward the messages to the user but there are over 3000. Plus, if I forward them they will all show up as being from the user instead of who they are actually from. Help!!!! Thanks

Angela,

I don't know if this will work, I'm searching in the dark on this one....

Can you restore the message back in the inbox of the remote system. Set them to Archive to the archive path, then take that archive file load it on his workstation then attempt to unarchive them back to the users inbox? I don't deal much with remote clients so I'm not sure if you're able to archive from a remote system. From what I can remember about the remote client....I believe the remote mailbox and the Live box use the same archive path. Just make sure you don't reconnect the system to the remote box until you are able to archive all the data to the archive file.....

Let me know if this helps, I'd love to know if it works....

I thought of that too. Unfortunately there is no option to Archive in the remote mailbox. Thanks anyway for your quick reply!

Sorry I couldn't help you. Suggest you sit the user down at a printer and have them print out the e-mails they really need :-( david e
