When connecting to a Exchange mailbox from a laptop via remote mail over a dial up connection, remote mail will report the total number of messages being received as they come in (i.e., receiving 3 of 10). However the total # of messages reported as being received is the total # in the inbox, not just the unread ones. Whether there are new messages or not in the inbox, the same thing happens. Is this normal behavior? It doesn't actually receive them all again, but if we implement this method of mail retrieval in it's current state I can forsee this scaring users that dial up and get a message that remote mail is receiving message 1 of 1425.
