We have a BCM 200 R3.5. I can get an i2002 to work on our local LAN, but not remotely. We have a VPN with the server hosted by Cbeyond. I can ping the BCM remotely, and access programming on the BCM over the VPN, but the i2002 keeps saying server unreachable. I am running the ethernet cable from a port on my Linksys router into the i2002 then back out to the PC with which I connect to the VPN. Is my setup going to work the way I have it setup? Thanks.

HAVE YOU CONFIGURED YOUR IP PHONE AS TO WHERE TO GET IT'S SP 1 IP ADRESS FROM.

That's what I'm not sure about. I left the same IP address that I had working onsite 10.0.x.x. Is that correct or is it different when working remotely? As I said I can connect to the BCM's local IP address over the VPN.

Will not work as you have it setup. The VPN tunnel is being generated by the PC but the IP Phone 2002 does not have access to it.

Three options:
- two NICs in the PC. Plug one NIC into the Linksys and one NIC into the IP Phone 2002. Start up the VPN on the NIC to the Linksys and then share that connection to the other NIC.
- use the IP Softphone 2050 on the PC rather than the IP Phone 2002
- trade to a Linksys router with built-in VPN client.

Just wanted to update my progress and document what worked for me:

1. I added a second NIC to my PC and plugged the i2002 into it.
2. I added internet connection sharing on the VPN connection to NIC #2, and also ticked the box that allowed the NIC to control the VPN connection.
3. Connected to the VPN.
4. Powered on the i2002. It found the BCM server and assigned a DN to it.

Hope this helps someone. Thanks again.
