Remote Interbase Connection Error 10060

I have an interbase server 6.x running behind a firewall. I have opened ports 3050/tcp and 3060/tcp. I have those ports forwarded to the specific machine. When I try to connect to the interbase server from outside the firewall i get
"Failed to establish a connection.
unknown Win32 error 10060"
I can connect from within the firewalled network.

Any suggestions as to what I can try next?
