Hi all,

I am trying to get Norton Antivirus Corporate 7.5 to install on my domain workstations using Group Policy during start up before a user can login. I've read guides telling me to use the MSI located at \NAV\VPHOME\clt-inst\WIN32 to my Windows XP computers. However, I don't have a VPHOME directory, but I do have \NAV\clt-inst\WIN32. So I tried added the MSI \NAV\clt-inst\WIN32\NAVCE.MSI to the software packages in Group Policy and then enabling the option to use it elvated in the Windows Installer options in Group Policy.

When the domain workstations boot, it says that it's Installing Norton AntiVirius Corporate Edition for about one second and then it disapears. Obviously it didn't install.

The whole root folder \NAV is shared to Everyone and it still doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

If your entire network is 2000 or XP then get an upgrade to 10.+. 7.5 had a lot of bugs that have since been fixed. Then from the server very easy to use remote client install and deploy it to the workstations. If you still have (x of NT clients then at least get version 9 the last 9X/NT version available.
