I am working on a Prosignia 300 with a PCI RIB. I can access the board via F8 at startup or via system config utilities with no problem. The board has both an onboard NIC and 56k modem and both are enabled in the boards bios with IP's set. The board drivers and management software are installed (Win2k server) however neither the 10/100 NIC nor the modem is detected or shows up in device manager. Should they? Am I missing something? Any info is appreciated. Will reply with particulars if needed.

The RIB card is actually a computer in its own right, and will therefore not show up in device manager. The card can either be configured using F8 on start-up or Compaq have a utility on their website which does the same job from within a windows environmnet.

Hey Chris I appreciate the info. I have not been able to find the config utility for Windows on the Compaq site. I have downloaded what they call a driver and config utility (several versions v2.2.1.0. to 2.4.0.0) but it doesn't install the control panel applet (which is what I have been told it would do). There is no RIB.cpl installed after installing the board drivers. If you know specifically where I can find it or if you could send it to me I would appreciate it. It seems to configure just fine with F8 or sysconfig at bootup but that doesn't help in a remote situation without rebooting the server. I was trying to get by without having to add an additional NIC for use under Windows (since there are only ISA/EISA slots left) but I think I have an old 3Com 10/100 that should get the job done. Anyway thanks again

Let me have an e-mail address or FTP location and I will send you a copy of the file.

Hi Chris,

You can send it to cio@pandapc.net.

Thanks

Hey Chris,

I haven't received the e-mail yet. If it gets returned to you or better yet could you send it again to another address service@pandapc.net (a different mail server)
I assume it is relatively small (less than a meg)so it should have passed my e-mail server OK but maybe something else happened.

Thanks again
