I have tried to get the Remote call forward to work but have no luck. When I dial the ext. from an internal ext it works great. When I dial in from an outside line and press the option that transfers to that ext I get voicemail. I have trunk to trunk trans on, rel. disconnect endabled. Any suggestions?

Do you dial the extention number when hearing the autoattendant or is it a selector code? If you are using a selector code it may be setup as a "transfer to a mailbox". and does the phone ring before it goes to VM on an outside call?

It is a selector code. The phone rings 4 times or so then vm. If I turn on Do Not Dist. then right into vm. The auto att. is not setup to go to vm, but to the ext. (in this case ext 11).

What happens if you just dial the ext. off the AA instead of pressing a selector code?

KILLBOX

Same results. Simply rings then voicemail.

It also may be worth saying that we have outcalling on with this ext as well and it works great.

Are the MAIL PORTS set to do TRUNK TO TRUNK & REMOTE FORWARD?

Yes they are for both Trunk to Trun and Remote For.

I think you have to double check the trunk to trunk transfering.

KILLBOX

I have, trunk to trunk is set for every ext. now and still no go.

If you don't want the ext. to be covered by VM then set the ext. up as a transfer only ext. The outcalling ports on your VM don't have anything to do with remote forwarding. When you setup the number for forwarding you either access a line or pool as part of your dial string so if you can do that internally I don't think that is the problem. What type of VM system do you have. If it is merlin messaging be sure and check the box for has a telephone or VM will cover every time and you can't dial the ext. from the AA.

TouchToneTommy I have and they are set to 3.

31LDog a telephone is attached.

I indicate the outcalling because I think that answers any question of port and ext permissions with both the ext. itself and the merlin mail.

Any other suggestions on this topic. I am up against a wall on this.

Did you ever answer 31LDog's "What kind of Voice Mail"?

As was suggested before, set the Exension in the Mail to be TRANSFER ONLY. (COS 20)

If for nothing else, just a test to see if it changes anything.

So we are changing the to Outward Restrict is that correct? If I do this outcalling will not work right? If I am wrong can you point me in the right direction so we can test this. Thanks

I found that COS in this stands for Class of Service so I changed the mailbox to a Class of Service 20. First I had to delete the mailbox which had a class of service of 10, then re created it. Same result.
