Does anyone know if it is possible to put a fiber station module in a remote closet by extending the fiber optic cable? If so, is the fiber jumper that comes with the module a 62.5 micron multimode or an 8 micron singlemode?

The product is made by MCK and is a modular extender. It comes in two parts, the first part connects to the expansion card via the DS30 fiber cable then multi-mode fiber is run across the distance (up to 1.9 miles) then the second part of the unit connects via ds30 fiber to the stn or trunk mod.

You can use single mode fiber across the distance if you have converters at either end. So it would look something like this:

module-ds30-extender unit-multimode-converter-single mode-converter-multimode-extender unit-ds30-module.

Oh and the connectors are ST type.

Arr, if you get and use the MCK Mod extenders, I recommend using a UPS on both ends. It's a good product.

Thanks for the possibility. Has anyone found a lower cost option?
