Remote EPN all phones fail intermittantly

We are currently running Avaya Definity G3 ver 9. We have a remote EPN at one of our sites, which seems to fail about every 3 weeks. The EPN is connected to the main PPN via t1 connection. On occasion all phones cease to work. The red light on the digital phones is out and no dial tone is heard when the handset is picked up. I don't see any error codes other than the connection is lost.

I am new with Avaya system , but have over 20 yrs with Nortel systems. I am not exactly sure where to look for the error codes with the failure. I ran the alarm report history and system error code history, which shows the connection loss. On the Maintenace card there is a Alarm WRN light that was flashing. Other than that the lights look normal. I rebooted the system, which the phones started to function again.

I reseated system cards on the EPN T1 card, maintenace, and expansion cards. Any suggestion for resolving this problem.

My thoughts were to start replacing system cards. I would like to narrow it down if possible from error messages, instead of just replacing cards.

I appreciate any assistance with this problem.

Thanks in advance.

I think i would start with the circuit first then work out to the cards. You can run the "List measurements DS1 (Log or summary) xxxxx" and be able to see if your circuit is going up and down. (Slips and errors)

For the link you can probably just busy and release the board and get the circuit back up.

When is the last time you helped someone, just because you were able to?

There are up to 8 ds1 circuits associated with a ds1c remoted cabinet if you
have duplicated PNC.

a-pnc will most likely connect to carrier 1e
b-pnc will most likely connect to carrier 1d
Code:
PNC                                            EPN
----------                                     ---------
SNI - DS1C -> t1 circuits to remote cabinet <- DS1C - EI
SNI - DS1C -> t1 circuits to remote cabinet <- DS1C - EI
Only a-pnc or b-pnc will be active at one time

Example is for 1ds1c without duplicated PNC
no pnc-b circuits.
