Remote divert on Hunt Group number??

I have a hunt group (3606) setup that I want to divert to voicemail at the end of the day. I am able to do a RID on the console to divert, but want the end user to be able to do it using some short code.

I cannot find any details of how to divert a different extension from a users telephone. This feature probably could also be used if you where away from your desk and you want to forward your own phone to a phone at your new location.

If you were doing it from the actual handset then you would generally just use

# 9 <extn no>

to put an immediate divert on. To do it from a remote extension you should be able to do the following

# 9 # <extn no to divert> * <exten no to divert to> #

To remove the divert from a remote extension it is

# 9 * <extn no diverted>

I tried something like that for both a hunt group dn and a normal extension. I seem to get as far as the final # when it comes up with invalid request. Is there some other setting which should be set system wide to allow this? Any ideas why this mightn't work.

You just need to make sure that the COS of the extension has AED in the list of facilities. To check this use LCSD and then the COS that is against the extension and it will list all the services it can use.

Just checked the documentation I have and it seems it can't be done the way you want it to. The code I gave is for the follow me service which means that a manual divert already has to have been put in place on the handset. Cancelling a divert and changing the destination can be done from a remote extension once the manual divert is in place.
