Hello folks,
this one is mainly for ArcServeGuru, he said in thread (but all suggestions are welcome ;-)) :

".... ARCserve 2000 is quite good in local disaster recovery as long as it is fully patched, remote though for windows 2000 is a bit tricky, but if you follow the docco to the letter, then it works fine as well."

The docco says the following : "DR can only be performed locally on a Windows 2000 machine"

BTW, ArcServe is Version 2000 with Sp3 installed after DR.

I have tried a couple of times recovering a W2K Server using Remote DR (local on the server with a remote ArcServe server & its tape drive containing the DR session), but every time i get the same error : After inserting the machine specific / Network DR disk, a NIC is detected. When pressing ok, it asks for installation of an other NIC. Pressing cancel and ok will have the same effect : Errorbox with the failure "can't install two devices at the same time". (There is only one 3com NIC in the box !!)
Now, how can i get this to work (when it is possible) .. ?
Already thanks,
greetings

Hehehe, can it be they haven't updated the docco :p It does work remotely and I have made it work remotely on win 2K. Repeat :) I have made it work remotely. :)

Anyway, are there any error codes or anything about the error in the error box? Also, you should have 6 DR disks, the last one is the DR patch disk.

When it says about the NIC if you only have one then you must select "NO".

Anyway, happy remote DR'ing :)
