I have a situation I haven't dealt with in a long time so I need a little help remembering.

Heres the scenario. I'm looking for the best solution:

I have 2 Option 11s. One is the main with a PRI between the 2 for VM purposes. The 2nd Option 11 has slowly been dwindling down people to the point that there are only 8 users on it. The customer wants to eliminate the 2nd Option 11 and the PRI between along with the COTS that have the 8 numbers ATDN to the phones. My question is this. I vaguely remember that you could order FX/OPX circuits between sites (one CO about 5 miles between sites). Then I would connect the digital ports to these 8 circuits connecting them at the far end directly to the station cables. This would eliminate the COTS,PRI, and PBX totally. What I'm not sure of is, if I can do this with digital ports? I seem to remember that only analog ports were supported in this scenario.

It has been at least 20 years since I've seen this. I don't even know if Verizon offers this kind of service anymore.

Any ideas or options would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You would need something like a remote 9150 to extend those which supports 32 phones I think. That is about the smallest solution you are going to find unless you go with IP phones.

Isn't there something called a Citel extender that was posted on the Norstar forum a few days ago?

I was in San Francisco a few months ago and I noticed each Bart Train Station has a stand alone M2616, I checked, it wasn't a Centrex M5316.....so I wonder what they are using there?

Digital phones have about a 3000 ft. Limit,so i would look into the Citel product, or keep the option 11c and delete the t1, reduce the number of COT's.
