I have two windows 2003 servers that are cross connected on a 10. IP/subnet 255.0.0.0

The public nic's are on a 20?.???.???.?? subnet 255.255.255.0

VPN host is 21?.??.??.??? but the error points to it being a 10. something IP.

My problem is when I connect to the company VPN (cisco vpn client) and then try to remote into the either of the two servers using "Remote Desktop" (via my laptop - windowXP) I get a server does not exist type of error. However, when I disable the NIC's used in the cross over connection I can then use Remote Desktop to connect.

Is there a way to leave the cross over nics enabled and still connect?

Thanks,
Mike

is the cross over cable between the two servers? why? what network is the cross over on? put the cross over on a 192.168.x.x maybe?

Per my first statement:
I have two windows 2003 servers that are cross connected on a 10. IP/subnet 255.0.0.0

IP for server1 10.10.10.1/subnet 255.0.0.0
IP for server2 10.10.10.2/subnet 255.0.0.0

We alreadsy make use of 208 and 192 networks for our public net.

Yes the crossover is between two servers. I need to move some really big sql backups that have been failing across our public network.
