Greetings all!
I had a question regarding remote desktop sharing behind a NATed router. I am using a broadband cable connection & would like to be able to connect to my home pc, Win XP Pro, from work. My questions are as follows:
Is this possible when you are using a router with NAT?
How would the request be forwarded to the approriate computer?
Which port should be open on that machine in order for the request to be accepted?
I have all remote desktop already setup on the local lan at home, tried & it works, but was having trouble getting access from outside. If remote desktop is not the answer, any other recommandations for a good application for remote access? PC Anywhere? RemoteAdmin?

Thanks,

Odin

Yes, this should work. RDP uses port 3389.
NAT port 3389 on the router to the IP addy of the remote computer, and away you go...

Forgot to ask is that UDP or TCP port: 3389?
