Hey all,
Not sure how to describe this.....

Usually when I come in to work in the morning, I will RDP into my three servers to check to make sure there are no errors in the services or Hard drives. When I do this, the Remote Desktop window that pops up will be a different size from day to day without me changing it.
Like today, it only takes up about 1/2 my screen where as yesterday it was full screen. Anyone else had this issue? And no, whenever it is smaller, I cant tell it to maximize anymore as whatever size it apperars that day is its max size I can only minimize it.

Any thoughts or ways to set the size it opes to?

Hi!

Do you simply run 'mstsc' and then enter the server name in the box?

If you do, then it would probably be a good idea to create a profile for the server(s) that you're remoting in to.

Start the Remote Desktop Connection 'mstsc' and click 'options' at the bottom.

Take a look at all of the tabs at the top. I've set several options for my remote desktop connections including - 1024x768 display, no sound, no remote printers, no wallpaper, and no terminal services local HDD connections. Once you've selected the settings you'd like, go back to the 'General' tab and 'Save As'.

Then you can run the saved Remote Desktop Connection with the settings you've specified.

Thanks for the response. Yea I have each a profile pinned to the start menu programs and the setting was setting for 1440x900 which would have been full screen on my other two monitors. For testing purposes I have been changing monitors out and currently have a larger one than before which is why it seemed to not go full screen. I simply went in and changed the display setting to full screen and now we are back in action. Thanks for the help
