Ok, I found a way to enable remote desktop on the client machine running windows xp by editing a registry key. Now the question is.. Can I implement some kind of script to push down the change on that registry key through Group Policy. Is so, can anybody help on how to perform the task...
Thank you

There should be a GPO setting in the computer settings part which will enable RDP on the workstation.

no there is not an option the group policy or at least I have not find one... If anybody can help

Go to Security options under computer local security settings. Find a Restricted Groups option and add the users you want to the Remote Desktop users group... this way all machines get the policy and you can control it nice and easy!!

hey sniper.. perhaps u can clear this little mystery up for me... what is the BUILTIN Remote Desktop Users group for on the domain? You would have thought that if you allow terminal services you could just add users to that group you would like to connect remotely to desktops....?

domain administrators and local admins can login via RDP by default, if you would like someone else say Skylar from the network department to remote in you would add him to this group.

My default XP does not allow you to connect remotely to it using RDP.

I think what linux00 did was connect to the registy of the remote PC and edit this key's value to 0:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\fDenyTSConnection

I think the object to change in group policy is:
Computer Configuration\Administrator Templates\Windows Components\Terminal Services\Allow Users to Connect using Terminal Services.
