As an Oracle DBA I am setting up a RAC sandbox at home to practice RACplay - a couple of hp refurbished pc's w 2gb ram and 160gb hd preloaded with vista home premium. I downloaded the free oracle linux and vm templates with the intent to install a dual booted oracle linux 5 with ora11g EE and then RAC. All this will sit on my home network behind a broadband modem and wireless router and hub. I plan to do my testing by wireless remote from my xp pro laptop. I suspect xp pro remote desktop will not work to connect to the linux installed os's. What is a free or low cost utility I can use to jump to the linux boxes from my xp box? Or can I do all this with TOAD9.x DBA suite?

Hi,
What kind of testing? If just Oracle code ( Sql Pl/Sql,the utilities, etc) then you would not need to access the Linux OS directly since the database and instances would be accessble through the XP Oracle client tools using your tnsnames.ora entries.
