Remote desktop for xp home

Unfortunately, XP home can only act as a client for remote desktop. You would need one of those machines to act as a server. Since you are going from XP home to XP home, you will not be able to use remote desktop.
You could use a program like PC Anywhere to establish a connection between both machines. You would have to configure all the settings yourself. You could probably pick up a version of it pretty cheap from NewEgg or Pricewatch.
Another alternative would be GoToMyPC. This company provides remote computer connection solutions. I have (and still currently) use their services frequently.
