I am trying to run the Macola software from a remote site using Remote Desktop Connection. My setup is as follows:

Window Server 2003
Progression Series 7.6.200 32 Bit
Pervasive.SQL 7.0
Windows 98 SE on remote Desktop

What are the appropriate steps to make this happen.

Progession works find at the server. I have installed Pervasive on the remote desktop. After I have successfully completed my remote login connection and attempt to open Progression the following error messages occur:

An error occured while loading the Microkernel.
Error 3020 on File:M:\Macola\Macola70\Screens\SYSPASS.BTR - refer to Online P.5
System error: File SYSPASS.BTR not open

Please define "remote desktop connection". Are you using Citrix, Terminal Services, or what?

I hope you are using pervasive sql 2000i sp4 w/hot fixes if you are on win2003 server. v7 pervasive has been supported for several years. Your error on the remote desktop is a communications level error to the database engine.

Can you run btrieve maintenance against a macola btr file & get stats returned?

I am using Trerminal Services

My first thought is that it's the drive and folder mapping. You reference m:\macola\macola70 as the Macola root folder. I would think the \macola folder is shared at the server and the true root folder is m:\macola70 from a standard workstation. I would make sure that you see it as m:\macola70 from the remote desktop and even go to windows explorer and run pwe.exe or macola32.exe from the m:\macola70 folder directly vs. a shortcut just to make sure as well.
