Having issues with RDP, give the generic Microsoft Error, "Windows need to close RDP due to an error, do you want to send error log to Microsoft?"

Is there a way to install/uninstall RDP separate of the OS?

Already tried a sfc /scannow

Other PC's can RDP into servers, tried RDP'ing to multiple servers/PC's, worked fine on Friday...

There should be something in the logs related to the crash which may be more informative.

Having run SFC it seems unlikely there is anything wrong with the RDP modules themselves. However, they consist of mstsc.exe and mstscax.dll in Windows\System32 and mstsc.exe.mui and mstscax.dll.mui in a subfolder named for the default language (such as en-us). You could copy those from a working XP machine, but I doubt it will help.

Have you tried reverting to a system restore point from before Friday?

Suggest you try a different logon to your machine to see if it is a profile problem. If it works OK for another user, then you could
- back up the registry
- replace the contents of [HKEY_CURENT_USER \Software \Microsoft \Terminal Server Client] from a working profile
Assuming regedit proficiency.

Otherwise, does it work in safe mode with networking? Tried disabling security software on the local machine temporarily?

Yea, ended up trying a restore point immediately after posting to see if it would function, which it does now. Assuming this wasnt a freak accident, when it happens again I will try another account and replacing reg keys.

Somewhat surprised being as thin as it is, there isnt a small installer package you could download from M$ to uninstall and reinstall upon mess ups.....

Hairless... I see that is an update to fix a known bug in RDC but doesnt pertain to the situation. If it comes up Ill definitely give it a shot as well but still not, I dont think, exactly what Im looking for.
