I have a user from a lawyers offfice that is trying to connect to a vpn. There are 3 users at this office. 2 of them can connect using the vpn. They all use the same credentials to login. They have DSL that comes in thru a Westell modem(not sure of the model because it is screwed to a wall), then goes to a Linksys WQRT54G wirelss router with a patch cable going to an 8 port Netgear switch. All the users connect via CAT5e. None use the wireless. I have tried I believe everything to get this one to connect. Up until about 3 weeks ago it would connect. I have tried a restore, uninstalling their Mcafee, checking for viruses and such, taking the Linksys out and going straight from the modem, compared VPN settings on the other machines to this one. Nothing works. Also, this computer cannot remote desktop either. It is running XP Pro SP3. I am thinking about uninstalling SP3, but it worked with SP3 before.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Well if all was working 3 weeks ago then what might have changed, any Windows update, DNS Severs, ISP IP address?

Fixed. We performed a sfc /scannow and then we ran a winsock fix on it. Not sure which one fixed it, more than likely the winsock fix, but it now connects to the VPN.
