I've done the google and support.microsoft.com and the msdn searches. I have plenty of documentation on how to download, install, and use the tsweb program and files on creating a web page so I can remote desktop in or to my computer, or to another computer.
I don't want to program a page. All I want is the little activex control that you download by right clicking the little yellow dropdown bar that (normally) appears when IE 6.0 detects you have visited a page that needs a control installed.
:::::Question::::
~ If there is away to pull it from a computer that has it installed already, great.
~ If there is away to re-enable that drop down on the computer that needs it, great.
~ If there is a place to download the control directly, great and even better.

I am in administrator mode.
I have tried lowering the security settings - doesn't work btw...IE complains and refuses the change when you try to go lower than medium and if you try to customize it lower, as soon as you close IE and reopen it, the custom setting is back to medium.
I am in a windows server 2003 small business server environment.
I have looked in the Tools >Internet Options >Temporary File Settings >Objects as well as looked in the Tools >Add Ons for the rdp control, nothing exists that is similar. However, I know I'm looking in the right location because on other computers that work, I can see the controls.
I did try to use the tsweb install, thinking it might just give me the option of installing the control by itself. No such luck. Now I have c:/inetpub/ or somesuch file that tells me "Cannot read from source. File does not exist" when I try to delete it.
I'm a wee bit frustrated by the lack documentation on the net, I know RDP ActiveX control might be used few and far between, at least as far as errors go. But I would have thought a listing of Controls would have been available. But maybe there are so many Controls that trying to list even the MS product Controls would have been too daunting a task. Heh, like trying to list "cookies".
In anycase, does anyone have an idea on how or where I can go to progress in this?
Thanks.
p.s. Just to repeat / clarify. Normally when you need an AX control you navigate to the site, a little bar appears that you click to download or at least allow. Clicking on the link or refreshing the page will prompt the download and installation of the Control. If it doesn't work, usually you would play around with some security settings till it does work. The computer at issue doesn't have a bar that appears, nor are the security settings different from the computers that I went to compare settings on.
