Remote Control Lag

Hi-
SMS 2.0 SP3 on an NT4.0 sp6 domain. Recently when trying to remote control to anything, anywhere, there is an up to five minute lag from the time one chooses "start remote tools" on the console until the remote control window becomes ready. It finds the address, and brings the window up but there it sits for FIVE WHOLE MINUTES. I have been monitoring the site server, but maybe I'm not monitoring the right things? Any suggestions? Nothing new has happened to this server for ages...Thanks. By the way sometimes it's just fine (just to make it a little more frustrating)

As per our experience, we found out that network traffic usually is the reason for remote control lags. Try to analyze you network utilization, maybe your company had already saturated you network bandwidth.
