I'm the administrator for an SMS 2.0 (SP5) site. Until recently, I did all my admin work, including remote control, from a Windows 2000 PC. I just upgraded the PC to Windows XP Professional and I can no longer remote control any clients or servers. I get the message "Security Rights to run Remote Tools on this client have been denied."

Nothing has changed in the site. Only my admin PC has changed.

Any clues?

I just had this exact problem with a couple of our servers, odd thing is, is that +nothing+ changed, it just happened one afternoon a couple of days ago.

check this article out:

in my case, it turns out i can still remote control the computers if i use the /SMS:NOSQL switch at the command line.

the article below says it's a problem and leaves it at that, so i guess i'll have to wait to install SMS 3.0

if you get it working let me know!
