Remote console access

Hi,
I am trying to enable remote console access to a server running HP-UX 10.20 but am having problems. I am using a PC with modem and using Hyper Terminal to dial the modem on the server.
I get message "Remote console connected" but cannot get any further - i.e. whatever I type does not appear on the screen. My colleague who is at the server also sees the "Remote console connected" message, and I can see what he is typing.

Any idea what we are doing wrong?
