I've installed sql server 2000 on my home server, behind a firewall, with port 1433 open and directing traffic to this machine. Can i then use Enterprise Manager at a remote location to connect and administer the server?? I don't know if the problem is at the remote end or the server. The server is a new install, and i've set a password on SA, but that's about it.

Thanks for any help.

Definately!

Get the IP address\InstanceName and add in Client Network utility then register from EM!
Since you setted up a Pwd for SA.Use SQL Authentication to register in EM

Thanks ClaireHsu,
I'm on the right track now.
